Rinse the quinoa under cold water.

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add quinoa. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until quinoa is tender and water is absorbed.

In a separate bowl, whisk together lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Once the quinoa is cooked, fluff it with a fork and transfer it to a serving bowl.

Pour the lemon dressing over the quinoa and toss to combine.

Add fresh basil leaves and gently mix.
