  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight and drain.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pot and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add cumin, coriander, harissa paste, and tomato paste. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add chickpeas and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until chickpeas are tender.
  5. Blend half of the soup until smooth, then return to the pot.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
