  4. Add the lentils and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the lentils are tender.
  5. Use an immersion blender to blend the soup until smooth. Alternatively, transfer the soup to a blender and blend in batches until smooth.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Serve the soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
