  2. Drain the water and rinse the chickpeas.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions.
  4. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  5. Add ginger, garlic, and green chili and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  7. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  8. Add the soaked chickpeas and water.
  9. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the chickpeas are cooked.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  11. Serve hot with rice or roti.
