Dates are one of the oldest cultivated fruits and have been enjoyed for thousands of years.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a food processor, blend the dates, almonds, oats, coconut oil, honey, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes.
  5. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave or double boiler.
  6. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled bars.
  7. Place the bars in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to set the chocolate.
  8. Cut into bars and serve.
