Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.

Add potatoes, carrots, and chorizo sausage. Cook for 5 minutes.

Add kale, broth, salt, black pepper, bay leaf, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

Add white beans and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
