Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the potatoes, paprika, cumin, thyme, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.

Add the kidney beans, black beans, tomatoes, and their juices. Stir well and simmer for another 15 minutes.
