  1. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic cloves, and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add fresh peas and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Using a blender, puree the soup until smooth.
  5. Return the soup to the pot and reheat over low heat. Stir in lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Serve the soup hot, garnished with fresh mint leaves.
