Fruit crisps originated in America and became popular during the 19th century. They were often made with seasonal fruits and served as a comforting dessert.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, combine the mixed fresh fruits and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Spread the fruit mixture evenly in a baking dish.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the vegan butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the fruit in the baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Serve warm with vegan ice cream or whipped coconut cream, if desired.
