Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.

Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes, until golden brown.

In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper.

Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven and let them cool slightly.

Top each slice with the tomato mixture.
