  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, molasses, egg, milk, and grated ginger.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  8. Transfer the bread to a wire rack and let it cool completely.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
