  3. Add the cumin, oregano, bay leaf, and black beans to the pot.
  4. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
  6. Remove the bay leaf and blend the soup until smooth using an immersion blender.
  7. Stir in the lime juice, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Serve the soup hot, garnished with fresh cilantro, avocado slices, sour cream, and tortilla chips.
