Coconut sticky rice, also known as ‘Khao Niao Mamuang’ in Thai, is a popular dessert in Thailand. It is often served with fresh mango slices and topped with a drizzle of coconut cream.

Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

Soak the rice in water for 4 hours or overnight.

Drain the rice and place it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth.

Steam the rice over high heat for 20 minutes or until it becomes tender.

In a saucepan, heat the coconut milk, sugar, and salt until the sugar dissolves.

Remove the cooked rice from the steamer and transfer it to a mixing bowl.

Pour the coconut milk mixture over the rice and gently mix until well combined.

Let the rice rest for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
