Heat oil in a large pan and sauté the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger until golden brown.

Add the spices (turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, and black pepper) and cook for another minute.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.

Add the chickpeas and coconut milk, then simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Stir in the lemon juice and fresh cilantro.
