  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the semolina, desiccated coconut, sugar, yogurt, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
  4. Decorate the top with sliced almonds and pistachios.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes.
  7. Pour the sugar syrup evenly over the basboosa while it is still warm.
  8. Allow the basboosa to rest for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  9. Cut into squares or diamond shapes and serve.
