Banana bread became popular during the Great Depression as a way to use overripe bananas.
This is vegan recipe. Dish can be prepared in 75 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 12.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.

Add maple syrup, coconut oil, almond milk, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together spelt flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in chopped walnuts and dark chocolate chips.

Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
