Rinse the basmati rice under cold water and set aside.

Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until translucent.

Stir in the rinsed rice and cook for 2-3 minutes, until lightly toasted.

Add diced apple, chopped parsley, vegetable broth, salt, and black pepper to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
