Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into 1-inch cubes.

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the sweet potato cubes. Cook for about 10 minutes or until tender.

Drain the sweet potatoes and transfer them to a mixing bowl.

Add butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mash and mix until well combined.

Transfer the sweet potato mixture to a baking dish.

Sprinkle mini marshmallows and pecans on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the marshmallows are golden brown.
