  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, almond extract, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded mounds of the coconut mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Press a few sliced almonds onto the top of each mound.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  7. Transfer the macaroons to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  9. Dip the bottom of each macaroon into the melted chocolate and place back on the wire rack.
  10. Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the tops of the macaroons.
  11. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
