Trim the ends of the green beans and blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for 1 minute.

Add the blanched green beans to the wok and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and sugar. Pour the sauce over the green beans and stir-fry for another minute.

Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve hot as a main dish or as a side dish with steamed rice.
