Snake bread gets its name from its coiled shape and unique appearance, resembling a snake slithering through the grass.

In a bowl, mix together flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

Gradually add water and olive oil while kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, dice the jalapeno pepper and grate the cheddar cheese.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Sprinkle diced jalapeno pepper, grated cheddar cheese, and black olives evenly over the dough.

Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough to form a log.

Place the log onto the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
