Rinse the lentils and soak them in water for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a large pot and add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Saute until onions turn golden brown.

Add turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.

Drain the soaked lentils and add them to the pot. Stir well.

Add water and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Use a blender or immersion blender to blend the soup until smooth.

Add lemon juice and mix well.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
