Rinse the red lentils under cold water.

In a slow cooker, combine the red lentils, onion, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, cayenne pepper, coconut milk, water, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

Cook on low heat for 4 hours or on high heat for 2 hours, until the lentils are tender.
