Rinse the lentils and set aside.

In a large pot, heat some oil and sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger until fragrant.

Add the turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Stir well.

Add the tomatoes and cook until they soften.

Add the lentils and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Stir in the coconut milk and lemon juice. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Season with salt and garnish with cilantro.
