Cook wild rice according to package instructions.

In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Add sliced shiitaki mushrooms to the skillet and cook until tender.

In a separate pot, bring vegetable broth to a boil.

Add cooked wild rice, sautéed mushrooms, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the pot with vegetable broth.

Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 10 minutes.
