Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.

Trim the ends of asparagus and cut into 1-inch pieces. Add asparagus to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Using a blender, puree the soup until smooth.

Return the soup to the pot and stir in coconut milk, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

Simmer for another 5 minutes.
