Wash the kale leaves and remove the tough stems.

In a blender or food processor, add the kale, basil leaves, garlic cloves, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, pine nuts, salt, and black pepper.

Blend on high speed until the ingredients are well combined.

While the blender is still running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the pesto reaches a smooth consistency.
