Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.

Once the cumin seeds splutter, add chopped onions and saute until golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

Cook for 5 minutes and then add 1/2 cup of water.

Cover and cook for another 10 minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice or roti.
