Thai-style Basil Rice, also known as ‘Pad Krapow’, is a popular street food dish in Thailand and is often enjoyed with a fried egg on top.

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped bird's eye chili to the wok and stir-fry for 1 minute.
  3. Add diced tofu and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Push the tofu to one side of the wok and add cooked jasmine rice to the other side.
  5. Drizzle soy sauce over the rice and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Add Thai basil leaves, salt, and sugar to the wok and stir-fry for another minute.
  7. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
