Rinse and drain the black-eyed peas.

Add the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened.

Add the black-eyed peas, vegetable broth, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the peas are tender.
