Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Peel and chop the butternut squash, carrots, and red onion into bite-sized pieces. Trim the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.

In a large bowl, combine the chopped vegetables with olive oil, maple syrup, cardamom, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to coat evenly.

Spread the vegetables in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and golden brown, stirring once halfway through.

While the vegetables are roasting, zest one tangerine and squeeze the juice from both tangerines.

In a small saucepan, combine the tangerine juice, tangerine zest, and a tablespoon of maple syrup. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the glaze thickens slightly.

Remove the roasted vegetables from the oven and drizzle the tangerine glaze over them. Toss gently to coat.

Let the vegetables rest for 5 minutes before serving.
