Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.

Add sweet potatoes, white beans, vegetable broth, crushed tomatoes, paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are tender.

Add kale or spinach and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until wilted.

Remove from heat and let the stew rest for 10 minutes.
