  3. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Stir well.
  4. Add lentils, rice, salt, and water. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until lentils and rice are cooked.
  6. Let it rest for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
