Croutons were originally created to use up stale bread and add texture to soups and salads.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cut the bread slices into cubes.

In a bowl, mix together olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt.

Add the bread cubes to the bowl and toss until well coated.

Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the croutons are crispy and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.
