Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Saute until golden brown.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.

Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then add them to the pan. Stir-fry for a few minutes.

Add a little water, cover the pan, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and drizzle lemon juice on top.

Serve hot as an appetizer or with rice or bread as a main course.
