Spicy Black Rice
Black rice, also known as forbidden rice, was once reserved only for the Chinese Emperor and his royal family.
This is vegan and gluten free recipe. Dish can be prepared in 45 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 14.

Rinse the black rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

In a saucepan, bring the vegetable broth to a boil and add the rinsed black rice.

Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the rice is tender.

While the rice is cooking, chop the red and green bell peppers, onion, garlic cloves, and ginger.

Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté for 5 minutes.

Add the cooked black rice to the skillet and stir-fry for another 5 minutes.

Season with soy sauce, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.

Serve hot with lime wedges on the side.
