Slice the yellow squash and chop the onion and garlic.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic and sauté until softened.

Add the sliced yellow squash and season with salt and black pepper.

Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the squash is tender.

Stir in fresh basil and cook for another 2 minutes.
