Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook until softened.

Add cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

Add red lentils, canned tomatoes, and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Stir in spinach and lemon juice, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
