Rinse the red lentils and cook them according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until golden brown.

Add the spinach and cook until wilted. Remove from heat.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked lentils, sautéed spinach mixture, ground cumin, ground coriander, chili powder, bread crumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Shape the mixture into small kofta balls and place them on a baking sheet.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the koftas for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

While the koftas are baking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped cilantro in a bowl.
