  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the eggplant, zucchini, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, and onion into thin rounds.
  3. Crush the garlic cloves.
  4. Spread a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Arrange the sliced vegetables in an alternating pattern over the tomato sauce.
  6. Sprinkle crushed garlic, fresh basil, salt, and black pepper over the vegetables.
  7. Drizzle olive oil on top.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  10. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
