Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick slices.

Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until they are golden brown.

In the meantime, dice the tomatoes and mince the garlic.

In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven and let them cool for a minute.

Spoon the tomato mixture onto each slice of baguette.
