Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until onion is translucent.

Add cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the pot, and stir for 1 minute.

Add pumpkin puree, black beans, and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Use an immersion blender to blend the soup until smooth, or transfer to a blender and blend in batches.

Stir in lime juice and cilantro.

Serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
