  1. Soak the white chick peas overnight in water.
  2. Pressure cook the soaked chick peas with salt until they are soft.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, and black cardamom.
  4. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  5. Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  7. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and amchur powder. Mix well.
  8. Add the cooked chick peas along with the water and mix well.
  9. Cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
  10. Add garam masala and salt to taste. Mix well.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  12. Serve hot with rice or roti.
