  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt.

  4. Place the pecans in a large mixing bowl and pour the water-vanilla mixture over them. Toss until the pecans are evenly coated.
  5. Add the sugar mixture to the pecans and toss until they are well coated.
  6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
