Wild rice is not actually rice but the seed of a type of aquatic grass native to North America.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Rinse the wild rice under cold water.

In a baking dish, combine the wild rice, vegetable broth, chopped onion, minced garlic cloves, mixed vegetables, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and stir the rice mixture. Bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
