Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaf. Sauté for a minute.

Add chopped onion, ginger, garlic, and green chili. Sauté until the onion turns golden brown.

Add green peas and sauté for 2 minutes.

Add the soaked rice, salt, and water. Stir well.

Cover the pan and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

Let it rest for 5 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork.
