In a large pot, add the rinsed brown rice and water. Bring it to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 30 minutes.

While the rice is cooking, prepare the vegetables by chopping them into bite-sized pieces.

After 30 minutes, add the chopped vegetables to the pot with the rice.

Stir in soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and sesame oil.

Cover the pot again and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
