  1. Rinse the brown rice under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil and add the rinsed brown rice. Cook for 30 minutes until the rice is tender.
  3. While the rice is cooking, peel and dice the carrots, chop the onion, and slice the spring onions.
  4. In a separate pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  5. Add the diced carrots to the pan and cook for 5 minutes until slightly softened.
  6. Add the green peas to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Once the rice is cooked, drain any excess water and transfer it to the pan with the vegetables.
  8. Add tamari sauce, sea salt, and sliced spring onions to the pan. Mix well.
  9. Cover the pan and let the pilaf rest for 5 minutes.
