Rinse and drain the kidney beans.

Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Saute until fragrant.

Add the kidney beans, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, sugar, and salt. Stir-fry for 5 minutes.

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Serve hot as a main dish or side dish.
