Granola bars were invented in the late 19th century as a health food for breakfast and were originally called ‘granula’ bars.

This is vegan and gluten free recipe. Dish can be prepared in 100 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 8.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and dried cranberries.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat the honey, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt over low heat. Stir until well combined.
  4. Pour the honey mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely in the dish.
  8. Once cooled, lift the granola bar block out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut into bars.
  9. Allow the bars to rest for at least 1 hour to firm up before serving.
